When it comes to temperatures, it gets warmer in April, when thermometers show an average of 16 degrees. May is a good month to visit, as it is already over 20 degrees, but the evenings may still be cold. It is getting really warm from June and temperatures reach 28-30 degrees throughout the summer. Good weather in Koper continues even in September (23 degrees), and from October the temperatures are slowly starting to fall. Nights are definitely cooler and the number of hours of sunlight per day decreases (only 8 per day, where in June there are as many as 12). The number of foggy days with precipitation has been increasing since November. Winter is gentle on this part of the Slovenian coast. Daytime temperatures do not fall below 8 degrees, while at night they can reach zero degrees. Actually, there is no frost in Koper, and snowfall is very rare here. In winter, the smallest number of hours of sunlight per day is noted here.

Precipitation in Koper occurs throughout the year, fairly evenly, but the least is in July and August. When it comes to rain, we have the highest probability of rainfall in February, as well as in September, October and November. However, the greatest risk of a storm in Koper is from May to July. Due to the climate from autumn to even late spring, fog may appear in the city.

Water temperature in Koper

The bathing season starts here more or less from May when the water heats up to over 20 degrees and lasts until the beginning of October (even 23 degrees). During the holiday season – July and August, the sea around Koper is at least 25 degrees and is ideal for swimming. At the end of October, the water cools slowly to warm up again around April.
