Trogir is considered by many to be one of the prettiest cities in Croatia. Like the nearby Split, it boasts a historic part of the old town that has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In Trogir, there is also a gastronomic and hotel base and a wide boulevard with palm trees, located at the port. So there is something to explore and where to walk.
And what about the beaches in this area?
The most beautiful beaches in Trogir
As for the beaches in Trogir, we won’t regret it in the very center. To take advantage of the sun and swim in the Adriatic Sea you have to move a bit away or simply go to the nearby island of Ciovo, which is connected with the city by a bridge.
The beaches around Trogir are typically Croatian – not too wide, pebbly and rocky, but with a fairly clean sea and a gentle entry into the water, without major waves. As for the island of Ciovo, in addition to popular campsites, you can find picturesque bays that are perfect for sunbathing.
They are an excellent beach springboard for people who came to Trogir on vacation. At this point, we also invite you to our guide on the most beautiful sandy beaches in Croatia.
Pantan beach
Pantan Beach – located less than 2 kilometers from the old town, near the mouth of the Pantan River. The beach is about half a kilometer long and is pebbly with fragments of sandy tracts. A big advantage here is the pine forest, located in its eastern part, thanks to which families with children can find shelter here from the scorching sun. An additional plus is a gentle and shallow entrance to the water, which is used by the youngest and people who cannot swim well.
On the Pantan beach there are catering facilities in the form of several bars and cafes. Nearby there is also a restaurant and shops. On site you can rent sunbeds with umbrellas and kayaks, there are also changing rooms and toilets. However, lifeguards watch over tourists’ safety. You can reach Pantan Beach by bus number 37 or own car (public parking).
Okrug Gornji beach
Okrug Gornji Beach – often called Copacabana Beach, apparently due to the number of restaurants and bars in the area and its very entertaining character. Certainly not because of the width of the stretch of sand here ?
Okrug Gornij Beach is located on the west side of the island of Ciovo. It is two kilometers long and in season is one of the most popular in the area. There is no shortage of rich beach infrastructure, including inflatable playgrounds as well as toilets and showers. The gentle entrance to the water and the proximity to trees suggests an ideal place for families with children, but it can be crowded and in the evenings loud. The downside here is the small size of the car park, if you choose your own transport here.
Kava Slatine beach
Kava Slatine beach – this is a beach located in the eastern part of the island of Ciovo. It is located away from any buildings, so you should bring your own lunch here, although there is one bar on site. Kava Slatine beach is partly pebbly, partly rocky. Surrounded by wildlife, it can be crowded in the season.
Sun loungers with umbrellas can be rented on site, or in the event of strong sun you can hide in the shade of nearby trees. There are no water equipment rentals or any other attractions on the beach. A big plus is the crystal clear water and the view of nearby Split.
Medena beach
Medena Beach – located in the town of Seget Donji, stretches for almost three kilometers. Its name comes from the Hotel Medena, where it has its origin. Surrounded by greenery, it is very well prepared to receive tourists. You can rent beach chairs or even whole beds with umbrellas. There are toilets, showers and changing rooms. Nearby there are bars, as well as restaurants and cafes serving drinks and ice cream. You can get here by car (public parking) and by sea – taxi from Trogir.
Medena Beach is ideal for families with children and for a group of friends. For children there is a playground and various types of inflatable attractions on the water. Adults, on the other hand, can use the football and volleyball fields. There are also tennis courts and mini golf nearby. You can take advantage of the varied offer of water sports such as para-sailing, water skiing or windsurfing. In summer this beach is under the supervision of lifeguards. Nudists will also find their place in the northern part.
And the last beach in Trogir, which is worth visiting:
Labadusa beach
Labadusa Beach – located on the island of Ciovo near Gornji Okrug. This is another extremely popular place for sunbathing. Labadusa beach is pebble and partly covered by pine trees. Therefore, it works well for couples and for families with children. In the near distance there is a parking lot and a fairly well-known campsite.
On Labadusa beach not too many amenities. One of them are nearby bars and pubs that serve meals and drinks.
