As already mentioned, it takes a week to visit all the attractions of Paris with ease. We mean, of course, the entrance to all monuments and museums. If we are in the capital of France for only two or three days, you should rather be prepared for a cursory tour. So to see at least the greatest attractions and monuments. Unfortunately, visiting museums or other objects from the inside in Paris in such a short time will be difficult because virtually all of them are crowded with tourists.

There are long lines in front of almost every entrance. So it is better to visit the Louvre from the outside and go to the Eiffel Tower, to come back here the next time and go inside.

The main center and historic sites of Paris can be easily explored on foot. However, this does not mean that it is not worth using public transport. The metro will take you quickly and easily to most attractions in the city. Even as far away as, for example, Versailles. If you want to avoid the biggest crowds of tourists, it is worth coming to Paris in April, May, June or September.

Then there are a bit less visitors. The peak season here falls on the holiday months – July and August, and during the New Year’s Eve and Christmas.

Inside, you can admire a really large collection of works of art, from ancient times to the present day. The most famous are of course the Mona Lisa, Venus of Milo or Nike of Samothrace.


Among over 300,000 exhibits, you can also see an Egyptian gallery and an exhibition of Italian painting.

Unfortunately, next to the characteristic entrance with a glass pyramid, there is usually a very long queue of people willing to visit.

The third undisputed symbol of Paris is the Cathedral of Notre Dame. One of the most famous and recognized temples in the world. The cathedral was built for almost 200 years (1163-1345), mainly in the Gothic style. Completed, it was consecrated to the mother of Jesus. For hundreds of years, the temple has witnessed many coronations of monarchs, but also the funerals of distinguished persons of France. The building itself impressed with its façade stretched between two towers and a rosette in the middle, as well as figures of gargoyles.

Unfortunately, in 2019, as a result of a powerful fire, the Notre Dame Cathedral was destroyed. Reconstruction works are currently underway, but it is still inaccessible to tourists. It can only be visited outside.

Triumphal arch

The Arc de Triomphe is another object associated with the capital of France. Built in 1836 in honor of those who fought for the country during the Napoleonic Wars and the French Revolution. The arch is located in Charles de Gaulle square and is right at the roundabout.

A very interesting place for a trip in Paris are also the local catacombs. An unusual attraction filled with the remains of the former inhabitants of this city, who were moved from the local cemetery in the 18th century. For tourists, an almost two-kilometer route has been made available here, among 6 million skulls and bones. It takes about 45 minutes to cover it, and while hiking you can see, among others museum, the Crypt of the Passion and the “Gilbert’s Tomb”. It is definitely not a Parisian attraction for everyone.

Les Invalides

As the name suggests, it was built in 1671 as a shelter for veterans of the French army. To this day, Les Invalides is actually a hospital and hospice. In addition, it houses the offices of the Ministry of Defense, as well as one of the largest Military Museums.
