How to scare away bees and wasps? Precisely, scare away – not: destroy, kill and exterminate.
Whether at home, on the balcony, on the beach, plot or in the garden – there may be wasps or bees in each of these places, and of course they are not always welcome. Especially if any of the household members or guests are allergic to their venom.
That’s why we’ve collected some of the best, proven ways to scare off bees and wasps without hurting them at the same time. We remove them only when they threaten our health and life. After all, these insects are very useful – more in the final part of the article.

Repellents
The simplest (as it might seem) way to deter wasps and bees is to buy a ready-made product in the store. However, do we want to spoil the idyllic, summer atmosphere with chemicals?
It turns out that there are much simpler and cheaper ways to deter insects, so-called home-made methods. In addition, they are completely harmless – for humans, animals and insects.
Here they are.
Home methods for deterring bees and wasps
To deter bees and wasps from our surroundings in a natural way, it is worth using scents, colors and plants. Some of them lure insects (and these are better avoided), while others discourage them. Fortunately, in this case, what is unpleasant for insects is usually nice for humans.

Let’s see what scents do wasps and bees not like.
Bees do not like the smell of eucalyptus, mint and wormwood. Therefore, it is best to keep fresh mint in the pot or – if it is not possible because you are, for example, on the beach – soak the cotton buds with essential oil and spread out in a place where wasps and bees are not welcome.
The most-bought essential oils effectively repelling bees and wasps are:
It’s not everything! What to do when the wasp stings us? Then it is good to use this venom and sting extractor:
Decorates, repels insects and smells beautifully
A perfect way to deter bees and wasps is to make an “ornament” from a lemon half with cloves sticking from it. A few of those halves put on the table will certainly deter insects.
If you feel that the lemon stops smelling (meaning it stops working at the same time), it is enough to squeeze the fruit to extract the juice.
Which plants deter wasps and bees?
As you know, pollination of plants takes place with the participation of insects, which is why plants most often lure them with colors and smells. However, the scent of dried or fresh shoots of common tansy can act as a deterrent to insects. They also do not like, as we have already mentioned, the smell of mint and wormwood.

The first part was devoted to the deterrence of wasps in tourist places such as allotment gardens, beaches or terraces, but we cannot fail to mention how to scare away wasps from the house or garage.
That is why now a few words about the wasps in the house.
Wasps at home
If you notice a wasp nest at home (most often in the attic) or balcony, it is too late to deter. Both the number of wasps and the removal of their nest is so dangerous that it is best to call a professional company for help.
However, you can also prevent the nesting of the wasps in our vicinity. Wasp avoid moving into area already occupied by wasps, so a good way is to hang a dummy nest (it can be a gray bag formed in the right way or you can buy a ready dummy) – the wasps recognize that the area is busy.
Nests of wild bees in the ground
What attracts wasps and bees?At the beginning, we mentioned that knowing what attracts wasps and bees, we can also make us not want to come to us. Wasps like white and yellow (interestingly, they do not see red). In addition, they can come to us attracted by perfumes with a fruity or floral fragrance, and even cosmetics such as conditioners, hairsprays and creams!
When it begins to get dark, the wasps are attracted by light.
At the beginning of the summer the wasps tend to cling to the smell of meat, while in the autumn they are most attracted to sweets, fruit (especially very ripe or even rotten), beer and wine.

The usefulness of wasps and bees
Even young children know about the useful role of bees, however, wasps still tend to be thought of poorly. And they are equally useful! They not only pollinate plants, but also eat ticks!
Therefore, deter them, let them fly to fields and meadows … but do not kill them!
What to do after a wasp or bee sting?
It is not always possible to avoid stings by a bee, a bittern or a wasp. What to do then? If you know that a sting person is allergic, call an ambulance immediately, giving information about the allergy and not letting the person on duty go away (sometimes they unfortunately downplay the problem). If the symptoms are local, the place of the bite should be cooled.
Take care of the bees, avoid being bitten, and deter bees and wasps wisely!
